Having been a tenant of Abbey Mill Business Centre for the past 7 years, I've seen a huge change in the buildings; that have come from the owner's investment.
I started out in Embroidery Mill, which is the oldest building in the complex. It's been upgraded to include more car parking spaces and carpeted throughout the common areas. The windows have been painted and the place looks amazing.
I moved to Mile End Mill in 2020 - this building is the jewel in the crown. It's been modernised sympathetically and still houses the old mill equipment on the ground floor and the Thread Mill Museum on the First Floor (it's worth a visit if you're in the building). There's also various artifacts of the buildings heritage, dotted throughout the rest of the building. A real treasure hunt of it's legacy!
Abbey Mill have listened to what tenants want and act accordingly, with the addition of 'The Cube' flexible working space on the Second Floor (previously offices) and the Chat Box on the ground floor (for meetings of 2 people).
There is ample parking within the complex, but please note that you require a permit to park. Otherwise you face being fined - there are several signs stating this.
The staff are helpful and readily available, always an email or a phone call away. I've found everyone to be friendly, from reception staff, through security and to hygiene and maintenance staff.
An added bonus! There's a wonderful cafe on the ground floor of Mile End Mill. Plenty of selection and something to suit most palates. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the town centre.
Happy to have moved here to aid the growth of my business, and hoping to remain a tenant for the next 7 years; and more :)
Excellent facility, with both stairs and lift to access upper floors, making it suitable for wheelchair users. Plenty of parking spaces. Well maintained, clean and spacious, lovely clean, well cleaned toilets. The building still has hints of its original use (mill) dotted about, which is a lovely touch, adding character.
This building is fantastic for events and otherwise, great decor and has really beautifully preserved the original infrastructure.
Only unfortunate detail is the terrifying AI generated art of the "factory workers " , the eyes , fingers and teeth and internet imagined historical accuracies in the photo realistical digital monstrosities are quite off putting 👁️🗨️
