A ghost town terminal that penalises you just for dropping off
Glasgow Prestwick Airport is an incredibly bleak and visually bland facility. It constantly feels like an empty ghost town with zero atmosphere, making for a depressing start or end to a trip.
Because of its remote location outside of Glasgow and remarkably poor public transport links, especially if your flight lands late after the trains stop running, you are almost entirely forced to rely on a car. This is where the airport takes complete advantage of travelers. They charge a steep around £4.50 just to drop off or pick up in the forecourt, with absolutely no free alternative area provided.
Charging premium 'stealth tax' fees for a basic, remote, and empty terminal with almost no transport infrastructure is an absolute rip-off. It’s an uninspiring place that seems designed to squeeze money out of the few passengers it has left."
A disaster from start to finish, what should have been a smooth easy process took hours to get through security! The security only had one lane open and the queues were massive, the second lane could have been open - compared to Glasgow and Edinburgh it was slow and far too warm for public to stand in! Very little staff one once through security and had no time to sit and relax before our flight! Will definitely stick with Glasgow and Edinburgh airport
Excellent service from all the staff at Prestwick airport. Easy check-in, security etc. We were on an early morning Ryanair flight, it all went perfectly. Will definitely use this airport & Ryanair flights again.
Disappointed with Prestwick Airport. It seems to be one of the only airports in the UK still enforcing the outdated 100ml liquid rule at security.
The lounge is absolutely freezing, the toilets were dirty, the place is just a dump. Charging £5 for a coffee on top of that only made the experience worse.
Absolute joke going through security been through loads of time never an issue .. jobsworth because he doesn’t like my tattoo informs if it doesn’t fit in the bag it doesn’t go through..so loose all my toiletries..checks everything to make sure it’s not over 100 ml .. and takes my cigar cutter in case I chop someone’s finger off .. really …
If they were consistent then fine but I’ve never bee treated like this ever in this airport. Absolute joke ..you clearly are struggling for staff employing people who get off on upsetting law abiding citizens.
