Small low frills airport, just like the carriers that fly from it. Very limited units inside of it, so lacks choice. The airport is not in Glasgow, so be careful when considering transport options. Good connections during the day from Glasgow Central & Ayr. Landing times at night can be problematic if dependant on public transport. Staff were nice, friendly, and helpful. £3.50 charge for drop off and pick up. This charge allows you 60 minutes.
5 stars to Glasgow Prestwick customer service for having 24/7 phone lines instead of useless chatbots.
Particular thanks to the kind gentleman who answered the phone and helped us to understand the circumstances of a flight that had been severely delayed and then diverted from Edinburgh to Glasgow Prestwick - you were informative, as well as the only human in the loop and your kindness meant a lot. Once again thank you!
Shocking prices in a poor restaurant.
The check in and security are excellent though.
I know airports are known to be more expensive but £4.19 FOR A 500ML DIET COKE. RIDICULOUS!
For disabled people - a disaster.
My daughter is in a wheelchair and we arrived really early to make sure we go through security and checks. This was ever so slooow...
We also wanted some food from the overpriced restaurant and it took much longer than expected to get the food.
Then the gate staff called us because they hadn't received the details about the wheelchair although I sent them online and got a reply email to confirm it. So we weren't allowed to eat the food we had paid for because of a fault in their system, but then we were left to wait for over 40 minutes by the gate before boarding because the airplane was not ready to board to begin with and then the wheelchair lift was used for another plane... My daughter has a neurological condition which is amplified by stress and this was a particularly stressful situation due to mismanagement. Luckily the destination airport in Spain was brilliant in technology and attitude and that helped a lot.
AVOID PRESTWICK AIRPORT/CAR PARK AT ALL COSTS.
I parked my car in Car Park 3 between 5–13 July 2025, which Prestwick Airport markets as a “secure facility” with fencing, CCTV, and ticketed barrier-controlled entry/exit.
When I returned from holiday, I found my car had been stripped for parts – the entire front bumper, grille, sensors, and plates removed, leaving only the headlights. Police Scotland had left a notice dated the 7th of July, showing the theft had happened almost immediately after I parked.
Here’s the shocking part:
Police told me I was one of a number of cars recently stripped in this same car park. God knows how many more have had the same happen since this incident.
Despite barriers and CCTV being advertised, I was told there was no usable CCTV footage at all of my vehicle being attacked.
These are ticketed barriers, which physically do not lift without a valid booking. It is utterly baffling how thieves could enter and exit to commit this crime without leaving a trace.
Prestwick knew about multiple thefts in this exact car park yet did nothing to increase security.
And their handling of my complaint?
EVEN WORSE -
Weeks of silence and being passed back and forth.
No answers, no updates, constant delays.
Eventually dumped on a solicitor, who then also left me waiting for weeks before issuing a blanket denial of responsibility.
This incident has caused £3,800 worth of damage and expenses, and Prestwick Airport has refused to accept any responsibility or reimburse a penny.
This car park is clearly not secure, despite how it’s marketed. If your car is damaged or stripped here, Prestwick will wash their hands of it, hide behind small print, and abandon you.
Photos attached show exactly how I found my car when I returned.
Prestwick Airport should be ashamed and the public deserves to know this is happening. Do not park your car here under any circumstances when travelling, in case the same happens to you.
